New faces on the Parish Staff Team

Adam Prior and Tim Hewitt are Ashtead's new youth workers.

Following a postgraduate youth and community work course, Adam's last job was in a tough area of Manchester. Tim is a former chef. Together they are the new youth work team.

So, what is their job description:, In a nutshell: to encourage young people in the church, to befriend those outside, and to bridge the gap between the two groups.

To add to their previous experience and lively personalities, Adam and Tim's hobbies will also help equip them in their new roles. Adam enjoys many different sports, including cricket and football, while Tim plays bass in a rock band- called "BL!MP" (When they reach super-stardom, don't forget you saw it here first!).

Andrea Weightman is Ashtead's new pastoral worker.

Andrea was born and bred in Ashtead, and went to Wimbledon High School before going on to university. Since then, she has had jobs at home and abroad, in social work and missionary work.

Andrea's missionary work was with Youth With A Mission, and her brother, Jeremy, is currently serving in the same organisation (He's out in Barbados - it's a tough life!).

Andrea, whose parents live in Ashtead, will be serving people of all ages - visiting those who are unwell, counselling and praying for people, and helping to lead worship in church.
