God only has Kids in His Kingdom
There is a big difference between being childish and childlike. God likes childlike grown-ups. Sophisticated, proud, "know-it-all" adults will be excluded from the the kingdom of heaven, but those who come like small children with humility, openness and trust will get in. These are Jesus' words: "unless you change and become like little children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven." Part of the crucial change needed to gain entry into God's place is the attitude of trust. Kids do not have to undo an attitude of trust in loving parents, but many adults have to learn about trust all over again. You will also need adoption papers if you want to get into heaven. This sounds horribly beureacratic, but it is actually very simple. God has planned things so that when we put our trust in his Son, he adopts us as his sons and daughters. The greatest need in all of us is for love. What better picture of God is there than one of a loving Father who cares passionately for the well being of his children. Those who were blessed with good human fathers will relate easily to this image. Good fathers give security, identity and love to their children.
