ashtead at Harvest 2003 reported that 90% Government funding had been secured for a vital £800,000 building project.

By the start of this autumn term, prefabricated and outdated buildings at the rear of the school had been demolished and temporary classrooms erected on the playground. Completion of three replacement classrooms, disabled access and other improved facilities is scheduled for Easter.

Thanks to much hard work and the generosity of parents and friends, £53,000 had been raised before the October half-term. However, a further £37,000 is still required to meet St Giles' School's contribution to building costs and provide essential furnishings.
