Two Charities - One Heart
Thirty cyclists helped raise thousands of pounds for two local charities this autumn by taking part in a 'Cycle for Sight' sponsored ride.

Departing from SeeAbility's Leatherhead site, competitors completed either 80 or 160 miles over the two days. They cycled to the port of Newhaven, before crossing the Channel and travelling through the French countryside.

Money raised will go towards helping two projects. SeeAbility has this year - its tenth anniversary - been raising funds for people with both a visual impairment and additional disabilities. Funds raised from the ride will go towards a new centre to help such young adults at Windmill Court, Honiton.

The second charity, Feed the Minds, has been celebrating its 40th anniversary by bringing literacy skills and information to people in developing countries who cannot read or write. Funds raised will go to support two schools for blind children in India and the Philippines.

Other charity events are planned for the future. More details from either www.bikeforsight.org or www.feedtheminds.org/cycleforsight
