Jack of all Trades
The response to Ashtead Rotary Club's appeal for unused, in-date, medications and dressings, as well as old carpentry tools and sewing machines has been overwhelming. Intercare logo

Jack McFarlane is seen here with fourteen boxes of surplus dressings and other medical items from a local primary care trust. This is by far the largest donation received, but Jack has received a steady stream of surplus medicines as well as a considerable quantity of tools and over twenty sewing machines. Sewing machines and tools have been refurbished where necessary and all items have thereafter been despatched to trade training schools in Africa.

Special care is taken with medical items. These are examined by retired pharmacists and doctors, to ensure they are in date before sending them to known contacts in clinics in Africa. Jack says he has been amazed by the generosity of local people and he is happy to go on collecting. He can be contacted on 273920.
