The Theatre - renamed and reopened
Leatherhead's theatre is back in business, showing films and concerts, as well as having a café, bar and gallery.
In a new venture, Pioneer People, a local Christian organisation, have bought, redeveloped and reopened the theatre in Church Street, Leatherhead. Formerly known as the Thorndike Theatre, it now shows films Tuesday to Friday evening with matinees on Thursday's and has numerous concerts lined up for the coming Saturdays. On Sundays the organisation runs Christian meetings in the 500-seater auditorium.

"The atmosphere here is great," says Box Office manager Kelly O'Neill. "Even if you don't want to come to a performance, you are welcome to wander in, have a coffee or snack and look at the art in the gallery."
