A day in the Life - Rosemary Bull
Photo of Rosemary "I'm passionate about prayer and believe that God answers prayer" were Rosemary Bull's opening words as we sat down to talk about her role and what prayer means to her. "Prayer is about developing a relationship with God - a good God - who wants people to know Him; it's not just about dealing with crises. I can see that God is intangible to those who do not know Him, but when you spend time worshipping Him, the more you love Him and the more you feel loved."

"God speaks to me through the bible, circumstances, thoughts - sometimes saying the complete opposite to what my natural reaction would be in a situation. In my own experiences over the last six years, I sometimes felt that life was not worth living, but God would say something to encourage me and help me through."

ashtead at Christmas asked her why she took the role of prayer coordinator at the church: "When it comes to praying regularly, I'm as guilty as everyone. Prayer is something that's talked about a lot, but done a lot less. The more I was challenged to pray, the more I felt that God was calling me to encourage others. And that's why I took on the role."

Rosemary has been prayer coordinator in the parish for one year now, having previously been a pastoral worker and counsellor. Her work involves keeping alert to needs within the church and community, and leading prayer meetings each month. She is also responsible for organising and training teams that offer to pray with people after every service.

Anyone who would prefer to receive prayer anonymously, either for themselves or someone they know, can fill out the PrayerPoint card delivered to many homes in October and drop it in at one of the homes around Ashtead with a PrayerPoint poster. Alternatively feel free to send it to Rosemary Bull, c/o Parish Office. If you can't find the card, just write a note!
