Chernobyl is known to the world as a place of disaster. The world's media have moved away, but the local population still lives in the shadow of the wrecked nuclear power station. Over the summer two of Chernobyl's children came to Ashtead for a four-week holiday. Spending one month away from the radiation can add two years to their lives.
