| A young member of St George's Church turns professional on the jazz circuit. | ||
|
Tim Boniface has always been keen on music, and now plays the saxophone, clarinet, piano and trumpet.
"My interest in jazz really began with a Chris Barber concert," he remembers.
"I bought the tape, and found I could improvise along."
Tim's first band was the "Therfield Stompers", but he now runs five altogether, playing at a variety of private parties and public concerts A particular highlight was the release of "Innovation Live", recorded at the re-opening of St George's. "After 'A' levels, I had planned to read music at Exeter University. Then the opportunity came up to concentrate on performing for a year." He is currently forming a professional band to take a distinctive new sound to the jazz circuits of London and Liverpool. Good luck, Tim.
