Ashtead Prepares - but what will we celebrate?
Traders in The Street will once more create a festive atmosphere to help people prepare for Christmas. But having got ready, don't forget the reason.

Fairy lights and the present buying have become an undisputed part of the great British Christmas. It's great, generates a real spirit of excitement and places the family high on everyone's agenda.

This year's fun on the street is on Tuesday 12 December and the theme is Pirates. There will be a treasure hunt with prizes for all, a pork roast, swing boats, Father Christmas and so much more.

But leaving it there would mean that the real wonder is missed. Christmas celebrates Jesus Christ, God's son, being born on earth.
