Gold Dust is a team of young people from Ashtead, who are working together to organise events with a Christian input for other young people in the area. "We aim to show that Christians are actually fairly normal guys, who love to have fun," says one young lady organiser. In the 18 months since its foundation, it has held 4 events. These are usually based around live bands or discos, attracting attendances of up to 250. The most recent event took a different approach, featuring the England v Germany Euro 2000 game on a huge screen.

"Not only does Gold Dust offer young people something to do, it also unites the churches of Ashtead, and teaches us how to work as a team. We are currently organising further events for 2001 - look out for our advertising!"
