Helen comes from Cheam in Surrey. She graduated from Liverpool University with a degree in History and was the Women's Officer within the Student Union. Helen has also had experience of both church and statutory Youth Work. Currently, Helen is studying for an M.A. in Health and Community Development on a part-time basis.

The strong commitment shown to the community of Ashtead by all the Churches has impressed Helen. She hopes to work closely with Adam Prior and Becky Wood, the youth workers at St Giles', St George's and The Lanes. Together, they hope to celebrate the Millennium, by holding an Ecumenical Youth Event.

At St Michael's, Helen is hoping to implement a Youth programme, which will include 7-18 year olds. There will be a Fashion Show celebrating National Youth Sunday, on November 21st. Anyone enquiring about these events should contact Helen at St Michael's parish office (272267).
