Summer fête - St Giles' school draws a crowd |
Teachers, parents, children and governors were delighted by the recent clean bill of health following their OFSTED inspection. A quote from the report shows why: "St Giles' Church of England Infant School is a very impressive school. It has many strengths and it provides a high quality education within an atmosphere of high expectations. It is exceptionally well led, it has an excellent ethos and it enjoys the very strong support of its parents." The report also praised the school because its pupils could work well without direct supervision and said that the statutory assessment results for 1997 were well above average. "We are also pleased that the School's strong Christian basis was recognised," says Head teacher Vivienne Aitchison. "This helps to provide a happy, busy, and caring environment in which pupils flourish, display a mature capacity for work and enthusiasm for learning." "The report makes excellent reading," says Chairman of Governors Gill Northcott. | |
