excited by Alpha's potential

More than 5,500 churches and 70 prisons around the UK will be running Alpha courses this autumn. "The course is an introduction to the Christian faith and gives people the opportunity to explore the meaning of life," says one of the national organisers Mark Elsdon-Dew, who lives in Ottways Lane.

In 10 weekly sessions the course allows you to search through key issues such as, Who is Jesus? Why did Jesus die? and How can I make the most of the rest of my life?

So that no-one can say that they didn't know about it, the National Alpha team have hired 1,500 advertising boards from Monday 14 September, that's one third of the country's commercial billboards.

"I would encourage anyone to go along to a local Alpha course - even if only for the first night," says Mark.
