Listening ears required
Mole Valley has one of the lowest crime rates in the country but that doesn't matter if you are one of the few who fall victim to it. Police resources today in 2005 no longer allow for making sure that victims are fully supported. So, to help bridge the gap, Victim Support (VS) provides essential free and confidential support. Every year more than 14,000 volunteers support around 1.5 million victims and 250,000 witnesses.

VS aims to help victims find their own ways to overcome the effects of crime, and assist with personal and practical issues. VS also guides people through the stress of going to court. Volunteers need to show empathy, common sense, care and listening skills. Training is given before they tackle any cases. If you are interested in becoming a VS Volunteer (working with victims or in more of an 'admin' role) VS would be pleased to hear from you. You can contact the local manager, Juliet, on 01306 875866.
