Ashtead Village Day has become a landmark event in Ashtead's social calendar when over 6,000 people of all ages come together. |
| An estimated 400 people help in the many local charities and organisations who use it to raise their profile and also to raise funds.
Ashtead Rotary has organised the event for the last 20 years. With some helpers they have been able to carry out all the tasks such a day involves.
The event has grown such that more help is needed. Already groups have taken responsibility for certain tasks, such as the churches organising the tea marquee and a Crufts judge running the dog show. If you or your organisation would like to do something similar, please contact John Parker (278523), who will be organising AVD 29 May 2004. |
