Get a taste of Ultimate Frisbee on Wednesday nights

With over 40 national clubs, Ultimate Frisbee is the big thing for 1997, and it's getting bigger! Our local team 'The Ashtead Dragons' is currently doing well. Starting with only a few young people from the church playing together, their numbers have now risen to 25. In September they hope to take part in the national indoor championships in Oxford.

"Ultimate Frisbee is fast and lively, combining the pace of basketball, the co-ordination of tennis and the rules of netball. It can be played by men and women, in single sex or mixed teams," says church youth worker Adam Prior.

To score a point a player must pass the Frisbee to a team-mate who is positioned in the opponent's end zone. The first to twenty-one wins. One unusual feature is that there is no referee - it's all down to honesty: a unique learning point that has made it very popular in schools and youth clubs.
