Pre-School PraisePram Services are held in St George's Church on the third Wednesday of each month, starting with a craft activity at 2.00pm. Refreshments are served and the fun finishes at about 2.45pm. All pre-schoolers and their carers are most welcome.
The National Childbirth Trust's Nearly New Sale and Fun DayThe Leatherhead Branch's Nearly New Sale will be held at King George V Hall, Browns Lane Effingham on Saturday 30 March, 2.00 - 4.00pm. Second-hand toys, clothes and baby equipment will be on sale. Their Family Fun Day will be held on Bank Holiday Monday 6 May at Fetcham Infants School, 12.30 - 4.00 pm. Lots of stalls and entertainment for younger children.
Cinema 100 Week - A Celebration of 100 Years Of CinemaThe Epsom Playhouse is celebrating 100 years of the cinema with a week of popular films, Monday 25 - Saturday 30 March. Ashtead Inner Wheel Fashion ShowInner Wheel Club of Ashtead is holding a Charity Fashion Show in aid of Macmillan Cancer Care Nurses. The show will be presented by Hammells of Epsom on the evening of Tuesday 30 April. Tickets cost £6, including refreshments.
Ashtead Village Day and Craft FairThis year's Village Day on Saturday 1st June will include a craft fair. The event will be held at the recreation ground and youth centre from 12.30pm and have many exciting attractions.
Parish Youth Team EventsThe Sound FoundationMembers only night-club for 11 - 14 year olds, with excellent sound, lights and visual effects. 3 May and 21 June, 7.30 - 10.30pm, St George's Church. Cost £2. Opportunity to become a member on the night. Weekend away in Kent for 11 - 14 year olds, 17 - 19 May staying in chalet-style accommodation. Many fun activities on offer including abseiling, army-style assault course, archery and karting. Mothers Union and Its AffiliatesMothers UnionMonthly Speaker Meetings will be held at 2.00pm in St George's Room on 27 March, 24 April, 22 May, 26 June and 24 July. Prayer meetings and coffee will be held at 9.30 am in St George's Church on 3 April, 1 May, 5 June and 3 July. Newcomers are most welcome at any of these events and at the corporate communion services that are held at St Giles Church on the third Thursday of each month at 11.00am. Ashtead Young Women's GroupAshtead Young Women's Group provides a meeting point for young women, wives and mothers in the community. Meetings are held on the second Wednesday of each month at 7.45pm in St George's Hall, come along for a coffee and a chat, everyone is very welcome. Ashtead Schools Inspector, Andrew Brevington will be giving a talk on 8 May and there'll be a summer party on 10 July in St Giles Hall. Morning GroupThe Morning Group usually meets in St George's Room at 10am on the second Thursday of each month. On 12 April the talk will be an update on the Parish's work in Stepney, East London. There will be an outing on 13 June and the summer lunch on 11 July. Link GroupLink Group meet on the third Thursday of each month in St George's Hall at 7.45pm. Their meeting on 18 July is a musical evening with strawberries and cream refreshments.
Epsom Race Course Open DaysDerby Day Experience Tours are now held in the Queen's Stand for visitors to get a behind-the-scenes glimpse of the preparations, workings and history of the Epsom Derby. There's even an opportunity to be photographed sitting on the jockeys' weighing scales! Tours last about 75 minutes and will take place between 10.00 am and 3.00pm on 28 April, 26 May, 30 June and 4 August
Easter Egg HuntThere'll be a great Easter egg hunt in Horton Country Park, Horton Lane Epsom on Sunday 7 April. This three hour event is being run by the Epsom and Ewell Rangers, starting at 2.00pm. To book a place telephone 741191. There will also be deer-tracking on Epsom Common the same afternoon, starting at the Stew Ponds car park at 2.00pm.
