Art competition

Artistic pupils from across Ashtead have been putting their creative skills to the test by entering the St George's art competition. They have been sending in their masterpieces on the theme of "e;Celebrating 100 years of St George's Church in Ashtead"e;, and entrants in five different age categories have been judged on originality, fun and imagination.

The winners have been decided by three professional local artists - Jo Stewart, Mary MacDermott and Gordon Beer. Prizes will be awarded in each category, and the finalist entries will be displayed in St Georges Christian Centre through out the Centenary Celebration week.

Come along and see the local talent, and you may be looking at a budding Picasso or Van Gough.
