Ashtead Squash & Tennis Club provides excellent facilities for young people to experience both these racquet sports, ranging from beginners through to advanced.

Jim Flynn coordinates the activities for the junior squash section of the club, which has two teams in the Surrey league. They compete at Silver and Gold levels in the Surrey Cup, and are coached by professional Jeremy Colton SRA qualified coach.

Currently there is a great opportunity for young people as the coaching is funded by the 'Awards For All' scheme, and is free to young people. Any budding squash players should check out the club's website www.ashteadsquash.org.uk

The club is at present looking for a junior tennis coach to lead this thriving section of the club where there are also superb training opportunities. So any local tennis coach who feels they could lead the junior tennis and produce an Ashtead, 'Tim Henman' should take note!

Ashtead Players have 80 to 90 junior tennis members with Andy Hammond as their coach. The group meets on Wednesday evenings and on Saturdays at the recreation ground, where the club has exclusive use of two of the four courts. The club is friendly and not overcompetitive, although it plays in the Leatherhead & Dorking leagues and takes part in a couple of tournaments each year.
