Your Old Tools Could Give Someone a Job
Think of the unused tools lying in so many of our garages and workshops and how they could transform someone's life.
Tools for Self Reliance Logo Tools for Self Reliance is a charity whose UK volunteers renovate used tools and send them to places in Africa where they enable people, who could not otherwise afford the tools, to earn a living.
They need
  • Carpentry tools but not electric drills or screwdrivers
  • Shoemaking and leatherworking tools including lasts, knives, punches, awls
  • Sewing machines, scissors, buttons, thread, cloth remnants
Gardening tools are not wanted.

There has already been an excellent response to notices in local churches, for which the team is very grateful. There are sure to be many more tools just waiting to be sharpened and put to good use.

We will collect or you can deliver them to us. Contact Jack McFarlane 273920, David Mitchell-Baker 274276 or any Ashtead Rotarian.
