Actors and cricketers don't always go together but they have teamed up in Ashtead to raise funds for the renovation of the cricket club's 100 year old pavilion. | |
| Ashtead Players will perform Richard Harris' play "Outside Edge" - a comedy set in Surrey about a local cricket team and the various characters involved.
There was a successful TV spin-off, staring Timothy Spall and Brenda Blethyn.
There are four performances at the Ashtead Peace Memorial Hall, running from Wednesday 30 April (8pm) to Saturday 3 May. The production on Wednesday is a special one in aid of the pavilion fund with all tickets priced £10. Ashtead Cricket Club is organising a wide-range of activities to raise money for new facilities and as the Players regularly rehearse at the club, there was a natural meeting of minds.
