Ashtead Players Bowl 'em Over!

Actors and cricketers don't always go together but they have teamed up in Ashtead to raise funds for the renovation of the cricket club's 100 year old pavilion.

Ashtead Players will perform Richard Harris' play "Outside Edge" - a comedy set in Surrey about a local cricket team and the various characters involved. There was a successful TV spin-off, staring Timothy Spall and Brenda Blethyn.

There are four performances at the Ashtead Peace Memorial Hall, running from Wednesday 30 April (8pm) to Saturday 3 May. The production on Wednesday is a special one in aid of the pavilion fund with all tickets priced £10.

Ashtead Cricket Club is organising a wide-range of activities to raise money for new facilities and as the Players regularly rehearse at the club, there was a natural meeting of minds.
