Life in a Troubled Land
One of the missionaries supported by our Parish is working in an unstable area of Northern Nigeria.

Sue Essam was ordained deaconess in 1980 and went to Jos, Nigeria in 1983. The country's problems have been much in the news of late, and rioting around Jos regularly claims the lives of both Muslims and Christians. Against this background, Sue is using her degrees in theology and music to train church leaders of integrity and faith. "Please pray for understanding between the two communities," she asks her supporters in Ashtead.

Last year floodwater ruined the computer she uses to create course material. No doubt many Ashtead residents will sympathise. Ashtead Mothers' Union have now raised the money for a replacement.
