Chernobyl in Ashtead
ashtead at Christmas reported on a visit of 12 children from Belarus last summer, all affected by the Chernobyl radiation. Plans are now well under way for a group to visit Ashtead this summer.

The children come for a once-in-a-lifetime holiday and a chance for their health and diet to get a welcome boost. For some it will be their last holiday, for most their only trip abroad - they love it!

Several Ashtead families have offered to host children this summer, and organiser Joe Walsh is hoping more will join in. An itinerary of day trips and outings is being arranged and fund-raising schemes put into action.

Volunteers are needed to accompany the children on trips, provide practical support to the host families, and help collect and sort out good-as-new clothes and gifts.

If you would like to help to make this holiday every bit as enjoyable as the last, please contact Joe Walsh (274069) or visit www.midsurreylink.org
