Travelling with thirteen local Christians, Mike spent two weeks living in the Northwest rural district of Kenya and one week in Mombasa. "For those like me experiencing mission for the first time, the trip was unforgettable," grins Mike. The team spoke at open-air meetings, taught in local churches and prayed for sick people. "Seeing God heal people was the most amazing part of the trip - it happened instantly as we prayed for them."

Mike revelled in the experience of staying in traditional huts and was bowled over by the welcome and generosity that they received. "Old age is highly esteemed there, so being 78 I was very well received," he laughs.

The team is planning another trip next autumn. Mike is determined to join them again and would love to see others from Ashtead go along as well. "If you can, GO!" says Mike, "You won't regret it." Call him to find out more (810219).
