Making a New Start
From time to time in our lives there are natural opportunities to make a new start … moving house… changing job… getting married. With each new start, however big or small, there are new hopes, fears and choices. But with each new stage there is an opportunity for change, to make improvements, learn and grow.

The completion of the new St George's Christian Centre brings with it a new start. New facilities provide new opportunities, both for the church and for the community. I very much hope that you will accept our invitation to drop in during the week 23rd - 29th April and share in some of the celebrations that are planned.

The nine congregations that make up the Anglican Church in Ashtead are also looking forward this year to taking part in a Parish Review under the direction of Rev John Gooding (Parish Resource Officer for the Diocese of Guildford). John will be asking us a lot of pertinent questions to help us review all that happens in the church and community.

I've no doubt it will throw up many more questions. But I trust it will help us plan for change, make improvements and provide for growth. At the end of the process there will be an opportunity to make a new start.

But perhaps the greatest new start that anyone can make is through the new life that God offers to us freely in Jesus Christ. Easter is a reminder that he died that we might know forgiveness; he rose that we might live forever. Jesus said "I have come that you may have life, and have it to the full" (John 10:10). Discover the promise of a new start with us this Easter.
